Tesla Powershare in Arizona

Your Tesla could help power your home through a longer outage.

An eligible Model 3, Model Y or Cybertruck can extend backup from a compatible Powerwall system while your vehicle is home and plugged in.

Check Your Powershare Readiness

Check your vehicle

Tesla lists new U.S. and Puerto Rico Model 3/Y orders from October 1, 2026 onward as eligible. Some earlier vehicles qualify. Check Software → Additional Vehicle Information → Powershare Support on your touchscreen.

Check your home equipment

The current Model 3/Y offering uses Powerwall 3 and a compatible Gen 3 Wall Connector or Universal Wall Connector. Ask a Tesla Certified Installer to verify your configuration, software and activation. Cybertruck also supports a separate Powershare Gateway configuration without Powerwall.

How much longer can backup last?

Tesla estimates up to two additional days for Standard Model 3/Y trims, over two days for Premium and Performance trims, and over three days for Cybertruck. Its support estimates assume 30 kWh of household use per day and 90% vehicle charge. Actual runtime varies with loads, charge, reserves and solar production.

Arizona air conditioning changes the calculation

Have an installer check AC starting power, continuous demand and actual summer consumption. Get a written list of protected circuits and expected runtime. Keep sufficient vehicle energy for transportation; the vehicle must be available and connected.

Already have Powerwall and a charger?

Tesla says both devices must share Wi-Fi, be registered to the same site and be paired. Contact Tesla Support for activation after compatibility and setup requirements are met.

Request a readiness review

Tell us your vehicle and trim, Powershare status, Powerwall model, charger type, ZIP, utility and whether AC backup is a priority. Not sure is a valid answer. This link opens a prepared email; you choose when to send it.

Common questions
