How Backup Ready Works
Finding the right backup solution should not be complicated. Backup Ready Arizona provides independent homeowner education and referral support—it does not design, sell, engineer, or install backup-power systems.
1. Tell Us What You Want to Accomplish
Choose your main goal: keep essential loads running, keep air conditioning running, explore whole-home backup, lower APS or SRP energy costs, or get help deciding. We ask only for the information needed to provide useful preliminary guidance.
2. Review Your Educational Recommendation
We explain which options may fit your goals, including battery backup, solar plus storage, standby generation, or a combined approach. Any estimate, readiness score, cost range, or backup-duration example is preliminary and depends on the assumptions shown.
3. Choose Whether You Want a Referral
You decide whether Backup Ready Arizona may share the information needed to respond with participating Arizona providers. Optional marketing consent is separate and is not required to receive the requested assessment or referral.
4. A Participating Provider Verifies the Details
Before you buy, an appropriately qualified provider must confirm load calculations, equipment compatibility, electrical service, permits, utility requirements, incentive eligibility, final pricing, and expected performance.
5. Compare the Proposal and Decide
You remain in control. Review the provider’s license, insurance, scope, equipment, warranties, assumptions, price, and timeline before signing.
Partner Qualification Standard
Before joining the referral network, participating providers are reviewed for business identity and contact information; applicable Arizona contractor licensing and classification; insurance; relevant battery, solar, generator, or electrical experience; manufacturer qualifications when relevant; complaint, reputation, and disciplinary history; transparent proposal practices; homeowner-consent expectations; and willingness to complete periodic re-verification. Credentials and status can change. This review is not certification, endorsement, or a guarantee of workmanship, pricing, availability, or performance. Homeowners should independently verify current licensing and insurance before signing a contract.
Homeowner Proposal-Comparison Checklist
Before choosing a provider, compare: the exact licensed company named in the contract; active license and insurance; detailed scope of work; equipment manufacturers, models, quantities, and usable capacity; selected backup loads and runtime assumptions; required electrical upgrades; permits and utility interconnection; current incentive and program eligibility; cash price and financing terms; labor, equipment, and workmanship warranties; installation timeline; change-order terms; cancellation rights; and service responsibilities after installation. Ask questions about anything that is unclear and do not rely on verbal promises that are missing from the written proposal.
Referral and decision disclosure
Backup Ready Arizona may receive compensation from participating providers when a homeowner is referred or completes a qualifying project. Compensation does not obligate you to proceed and does not mean a provider is the best choice for your home. You are free to compare providers, obtain additional bids, choose any provider, or decide not to purchase. Final design, sizing, engineering, permits, utility approval, code compliance, installation, commissioning, pricing, financing, incentives, and expected performance must be confirmed by appropriately qualified providers.
